My Story
from meds to movies

Ever since I can remember, filmmaking has had a pull on me. Whether it was late-night movie marathons or going down rabbit holes researching directors and cinematographers, I was always drawn to it. Even with that, I originally went down the path of studying Pharmacy.
As the years went on though, it became pretty clear that my passion for film wasn’t going anywhere. So I backed myself and enrolled in a filmmaking degree at SAE Institute in Perth.
From there, I jumped into freelance videography, taking on everything from music videos to events, basically anything that meant I could have a camera in my hands. Over the past few years, I’ve thrown myself into short film production and launched my own business, J Cinematics. There’s been plenty of 3am editing sessions, long wet shoots, and a slightly unhealthy obsession with new camera gear, yet no regrets. Through all of that, I’ve kept refining my craft and chasing that perfect shot.
For me, this has never just been a job.
I see my wedding videos as films. I focus on storytelling and cinematic techniques that I’ve developed over the years, so each couple’s day feels intentional, emotional, and true to them.

Jack was an excellent videographer at our wedding, and we were so glad to take a chance on him late in our wedding planning! On the day he was easy going, fun and organised. He easily fitted in around at key moments, and went with the flow of the day.. His work was beautiful, capturing all our key moments in an authentic feeling way. The editing was done so well, and we are so thrilled with how the speeches were layered over moody shots.

I'm really glad we decided to have a wedding video made, and choosing Jack as our videographer was the perfect decision! His laid-back yet organized approach ensured the day flowed seamlessly. He captured every moment we wanted with an artistic touch, creating a video that's truly special. Thanks for going above and beyond and giving us something we'll treasure forever!"
